How to connect Welbi to Power BI

Connecting Welbi to Your Reporting Tools (Business Intelligence)

Welbi's Business Intelligence access lets your team work with your Welbi data directly in your own reporting tools, so you can build custom dashboards, combine Welbi data with other business data, and run the analysis your organization needs. Welbi provides secure access to your data, and your team builds the reporting on top of it.

This was designed for organizations that want more than the standard in-product reports, particularly those with a business intelligence or analytics team. Today, the most direct path is Power BI, and other tools can be supported as well.

Is this right for you?

Business Intelligence access is a good fit if you:

  • want custom dashboards or recurring, tailored reports,
  • already use Power BI, or have analysts or IT staff who work with data,
  • want to combine Welbi data with data from your other systems, or
  • need to pull data out of Welbi for your own analysis.

If instead you are looking for a simple built-in report, the standard reporting inside Welbi may be the better starting point. Your Customer Success representative can help you decide.

What data is available

You can currently access these data sets: residents, communities, caregivers, programs, attendance, and assessment names.

Additional data is being added over time based on customer demand. If there is something you need that is not yet available, let your Customer Success representative know so it can be considered.

Getting set up

Setup is done with help from Welbi:

  1. Let your Welbi Customer Success representative know you would like Business Intelligence access, which data you are interested in, and which tool you plan to use.
  2. Welbi provisions a secure API key for your organization.
  3. You will receive setup documentation to connect your tool:
    • a User Guide for a step-by-step Power BI setup, and
    • a Technical Guide for developers or for connecting other tools.
  4. Use your key to connect and start building.
