Scheduling a Self-Directed Activity

Schedule self-directed activities on your planning calendar to make logging resident engagement quick and painless!

At Welbi, we typically define self-directed activities as activities that a resident (or residents) engage in that aren't facilitated programs (e.g., family visits, TV time, iPad games, etc). Often times these activities happen organically (i.e., not scheduled in advance), and in these cases, the quickest way to log them is via the Attendance page.
However, there may be cases where your team wishes to schedule self-directed activities within your calendar (e.g., a family visit). To schedule a self-directed activity on your calendar, start with one of the following:
  • Click into a specific day on your calendar. This will open a "New Program" pop-up window populated with your chosen date.
OR
  • Click on the + sign on the top left of your calendar. This will open a "New Program" pop-up window populated with today's date.

In the "New Program" pop-up window:
  • Select "Self-Directed" from the program type menu along the top of the window to specify that this will be a 1-on-1 Program.
  • Fill out all of the relevant information for your activity (title, date, time, location, recurrence, level of care, calendar, dimension(s) of wellness, hobbies that relate to the activity, any relevant tags if necessary).
  • Enter any internal notes relating to the activity if needed.
  • Click "Create" and your activity will appear in the calendar.
If you chose to set a recurrence on the activity (e.g., happens weekly) you will see that the activity appears in your Planning Calendar at the same time every week.
